Sunday Classes at Area Shops
Several fiber shops are offering classes on Sunday the 16th to accommodate Colorado Weavers Day attendees. Registration is required for all classes. Please visit the shops' website for information about registering.
Color Play

- Have a glorious day dyeing your favorite animal fiber yarns! We will teach three ways of applying color to skeins for warp and weft, sock yarn, or other knitting yarns using acid dyes in a rainbow of color. Discover the excitement of experimenting with combining colors, blending colors and serendipitous color accidents! We have dyes and yarn waiting for you--all supplies are included. Come join us (and be sure to wear dyeing-appropriate clothes) for lots of color and fiber fun!

- If you've wanted to try weaving, but haven't had the time, this all-day class is for you. Using a rigid heddle loom, students will experience all the steps of weaving a scarf from start to finish. Warping, weaving, and finishing will be covered, along with basic weaving techniques. By the end of the class, students should have a good idea of what weaving is all about -- and go home with a finished project! Use of our rigid heddle loom and supplies are included.

- You may have noticed those new flexible, multicolored, textured scarves. Now learn all the tricks to make your own unique fashionable "collapse" scarf using luxury fibers and traditional weave structure. Choose wool/silk, soy rayon, tencel, or silk for your scarf. Choose one of three styles and work with medium or tiny yarns, as you prefer. Advanced-beginning weaving skills required, including warping and weaving with a boat shuttle. Use of a 4- or 8-shaft portable loom required.
